Dyneema Fibre and Its Features

  • With features like high strength, light weight, Dyneema fibre(UHMWPE) is very popular in current defense industry. People use it for helmet, vest and other protective products. Latest technology in prepreg machine and Crossply Machine well preserves its original feature and performance.
From Dyneema fibre bobbins unwinding to spreading, feeding, impregnating, drying, 0 degree and 90 degree orthogonality, crossply, sheet cutting, Kuntai has developed a full range of technologies like fine tension control, uniform temperature control, precise resin quantity control. Pls feel free to contact us for further details.

    What is Dyneema?

There is such a remarkable material, known as the strongest and lightest fibre in the world - its strength is 15 times that of steel, yet it can float on water. That material is Dyneema. Kuntai prepreg machine can prepreg Dyneama fibre into resin to make strong and powerful UD fabric.
Dyneema fibre, also known as Dynema/Large Strength fibre, is technically classified as Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene fibre (UHMWPE). It is currently the strongest substance that humans can synthesize. It is adopted by multiple sports and outdoor brands such as Adidas, Stone Island, The North Face and CP Company to manufacture high-quality products. Also it is widely used in defense industry by impregnating it into resin by prepreg machine and then laminating multiple layers by crossply machines.
High strength: On the same weight basis, the strength of Dyneema is 15 times that of steel wire. Lightweight: In terms of size, the ropes made of Dyneema are 8 times lighter than steel cables. Waterproof: Dyneema is hydrophobic (repels water), and does not absorb water. This means that it remains lightweight even when working in humid conditions.

Floating: The density of Dyneema is 0.97, which means it can float in water. (Density is a measure of mass per unit volume; the SG of water is 1, so anything with an SG less than 1 will float, and an SG greater than 1 means it will sink.) Chemical resistance: Dyneema is chemically inert. It performs well in dry, humid, salty and damp conditions, as well as in situations where there are other chemical substances present. Ultraviolet resistance: Dyneema has excellent resistance to light degradation, and its performance remains intact even when exposed to ultraviolet rays.
